6 Reasons to buy fair trade

You can only spend your money once right? Just make sure you do it right! How many products do you own that you barely use, or you even completely forgot about having them? We live in a consumer and disposable oriented economy. Mass production and unhuman circumstances are part of our daily lives. Is that the way we want to continue?

You are responsible for your life and expenses, but many people are not aware of the consequences their behavior might have. Fortunately we have the freedom the make choices and changes. With help of others we are able to empower people to work on their own happiness.

Fair trade is so much more than a fair price. We have described 6 reasons that explain our true meaning of fair trade and reasons why you should buy fair trade products.

Fair trade represents the true meaning of love and beauty

True love and beauty comes from the inside, not the outside. True love and beauty starts from the moment when something is created, it start with the idea. When you give someone the freedom to do what they love to do on a fair way, pure love and beauty will come out. People create the most beautiful things if they know that their work is respected and valuable to others. Cheap labor doesn’t bring any good and of course it doesn’t bring beauty!

Balanced and harmonious market place

Fairtrade creates a wealthy economy that can be enjoyed on both sides of the market place. It brings harmony and joy back into the lives of people. The fair prices give people freedom and what is a better feeling than being free? A wealthy economic balance is what we need for the people and for other Nature.

Show that you care

You can start changing the world to show that you care! Start with yourself to help others. Your impact can be greater than you might imagine. Isn’t it not great that you can help a child going to school with your beautiful necklace? You can make a difference in a child’s future, by sending them to school or sending them to work.  Think about it. What are the circumstances behind your purchase?

Give people the opportunity to help themselves

No one wants to be dependent on others right? Isn’t not great that you are able to give people the opportunity to help themselves? Sending donations is great but it also means that you help people become dependent on your support. If they can help themselves, it will be more sustainable.

Help others believe in the goodwill of human

If you live in an unhappy situation and no one is able to help you out, it is very difficult to believe in the goodwill of humans. You might then be one person that give someone his/her trust back. Someone needs to make the first step, you might be that sparkle in someone’s live!

Sharing is caring!

Many people that are part of a fair trade movement live in cultures in which it is normal to share everything they have. If they earn some money today, it will be shared with their family or other persons in need. They care as much about others than they care about themselves. That woman that made your beautiful bag, could have helped her brother with buying medicines for his illness. Buying a fair-trade products goes way beyond supporting just one artisan.
